The Department of Biostatistics, Data Science and Epidemiology through the Institute of Public and Preventive Health (IPPH) at Augusta University is seeking an outstanding Assistant Professor interested in an academic teaching career. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, non-tenure track position, renewable based on performance and available funding. Teaching will be primarily in our online MPH, Master of Science (MS) in Epidemiology, Master of Clinical and Translational Sciences programs and possibly in our MS Biostatistics and MS Data Science programs. A mutually agreed upon start date will be determined by the successful candidate and department chair.
The teaching faculty position will support our rapidly growing online MPH program and other programs. Faculty will have the opportunity to work with talented instructional designers to design and launch high-quality courses that meet the needs of our community and state. Remote work is possible for qualified individuals living in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience. The position will remain open until filled.
Responsibilities
Teaching 85% - Teach courses, advise graduate students, and participate in the Institute's other educational initiatives.
Research 10% - Conduct research in the faculty member's disciplinary area and/or pedagogical research. Publish in peer-reviewed journals relevant to Public Health science and/or practice, present at professional meetings, and mentor student research related to the faculty member's discipline.
Service 5% - Provide service to the Institute, academic department, College, and University through participation in faculty meetings and/or committee service. Provide service to the profession through involvement in professional organizations, serving as a reviewer of journal manuscripts, or on peer-review panels for grant applications.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have earned a Doctoral degree in Health or Clinical Informatics, Health Data Analytics, Statistics/Biostatistics, or related quantitative disciplines. Applicants should have a track record of successful teaching or show evidence of potential for effective teaching in the above-mentioned programs.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
- Evidence of ability as a teacher;
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
