Assistant Global Controller

The Assistant Global Controller has a highly visible role that will interact with multiple levels of the organization across all entities. This \"hands-on\" position will partner with the Global Corporate Controller in managing the monthly close and consolidation, preparing consolidated financial statements under IFRS, managing the annual audit and creating a strong control environment. The position will serve a critical role in the company's continuous improvement of its accounting policies, processes and financial systems.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the monthly closing process and ensure all the closing activities in consolidation system are completed timely and accurately.
• Ensure regional financials are ready to use for corporate consolidation before closing deadline.
• Assist Global Corporate Controller with development/implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Play a lead role in managing the external audit, creating audit ready documentation and responding to audit questions.
• Partner with regional finance team to develop audit plans, ensure the execution and communicate the findings and recommendations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal documentation & controls.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline required.
• Minimum of 5 + years accounting and 3+ years of consolidation experience
• Advanced Microsoft Office, SAP and financial systems proficiency
• Experience with IFRS accounting standards and accounting for foreign entities.
• Proficiency in internal control design, documentation and implementation preferred.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage deadlines.
• Drive for results and a strong sense of urgency.
• Excellent written/oral communication skills
• Well-developed knowledge of accounting practices and financial concepts
