Summary:

This position is responsible for reviewing and updating policy benefit values on the existing annuity and life insurance block of business. The candidate will become a product expert on the entire suite of Delaware Life product features and will report to the Actuarial Director on the Product team. The candidate will also have visibility with other members of the Product team as well as the Operations function at the company.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Perform manual calculations to review and, as necessary, update administrative system calculations on the suite of annuity and life insurance products.
  • Update and maintain spreadsheets used to produce life insurance illustrations.
  • Update rates and run COLI illustrations.
  • Program in various languages to perform complex calculations, automate processes, and reduce operational risks.
  • Identify, log, and resolve any discovered errors.
  • Ensure that any changes are documented in compliance with change management guidelines.
  • Participate in special projects as needed via daily use of Access, Excel, VBA, and other tools.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Actuarial Science, Math, Applied Math, Statistics or any closely related field.
  • 1+ years of experience preferred.
  • Experience using computer software, including Excel (with VBA).
