Duties: The Administrative Director will oversee and help direct the planning, implementation, and tracking of the activities of the Center for Improving Care Delivery for the Aging (CICADA), a Resource Center for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn). CICADA aims to train emerging scientists from underrepresented backgrounds in the interdisciplinary science of Health Services Research as it applies to the most pressing issues for aging Americans, particularly minority elders.

The Administrative Director will organize day-to-day activities; integrate and communicate between the various components of the center; monitor, manage, measure, and track progress towards goals; coordinate governance and steering structures including internal board, external board, other RCMAR Centers, the RCMAR Coordinating Center, and the National Institute on Aging, and work with the directors to implement and direct the CICADA objectives. In addition to a commitment to excellence in operations, the position requires leadership skills and a commitment to the center mission of training and supporting emerging scientists from underrepresented backgrounds.

- Provide administrative leadership
- Manage day-to-day essential activities
- Provide leadership to integrate multiple components of program
- Create and manage timelines and budgets and proactively manage timelines and budgets
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements
- Create, implement and oversee systems for collecting data on center progress and produce semi-annual progress report
- Work with investigators to manage pilot projects, including the process for soliciting, reviewing, and selecting new pilot projects
- Support training and career development needs of scholars

The position is contingent upon funding (5 year initial funding).

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in research and education environments providing project and/or program management or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree preferred, preferably in a research-related field. Previous experience in a multi-faceted, project management position involving health services research strongly preferred. The Administrative Director possesses excellent project management skills including excellent skills in communication, scheduling, critical thinking, task management, and personal organization, The Administrative Director will interact with a variety of faculty members and staff, throughout the University and individuals outside the University, so strong interpersonal communication skills are essential. He/she must maintain a team-oriented approach, and possesses the ability to cultivate positive and collegial workplace relationships. Dependability and attention to detail will be vital to success in the position.
