The State of Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Maternal and Child Health Program in the Licensing unit within the Division of Public Health.

Location: 301 Centennial Mall South, NSOB, Lincoln

Schedule: M-F 8 AM to 5 PM
Examples of Work
This position provides support for the Maternal and Child Health Program. The position functions in a variety of tasks in support of public health program planning, implementation and evaluation in the areas of maternal, child, adolescent, and school health.

The successful candidate is flexible, patient, an excellent communicator both orally and in writing, very accurate and detail-oriented. Important skills include budget monitoring, payment requests, survey software, planning logistics for educational events and meetings, including production of meeting reports, and more assignments as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

PREFER: Experience working in an office setting. Skilled working with Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel, Adobe Pro, SurveyMonkey. Interest and/or past experience in public health.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent written communication; ability to produce meeting reports. Financial monitoring; fine attention to detail; knowledge of department financial reporting methods; able to problem-solve errors with help of others. Submit payment requests from numerous program subrecipients. Manage on-line registration functions and surveys. Serve as web content provider for section.
