Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Birmingham, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for the Accounting Manager position. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the coordination, oversight and execution of Nucor's accounting, reporting, and internal control related activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax, scrap inventory accounting, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting, costing files, assisting with annual budget, monthly balancing, inventory management, and recording and timely reporting of accounting records/transactions, etc. This position will also take a lead role in the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies, control and system improvements; supervision of external and internal audit processes and ensuring that proper internal controls are maintained; and providing analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues and driving continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business. This role is also responsible for team training and the development and growth opportunities for the finance department teammates.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Five years of accounting and/or finance experience
- Two years of experience in an ERP environment
- Two years of experience in a leadership/supervisory capacity
- Ability and willingness to relocate for future advancement opportunities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with Oracle EBS and related applications
- Manufacturing or Cost Accounting experience
- Five years of experience in a leadership/supervisory position
- CPA and/or MBA, or pursing one of these
