A day in the life:

This senior level position within the Employee Health & Benefits service team is responsible for making certain that MMA's mission is communicated well and that the servicing requirements of all assigned accounts are strictly adhered. This position will require management of an assigned book of business as well as assistance in the process of securing new clients. Technical knowledge of Employee Benefit coverages, availability of products, design of programs, client enhancement features and delivery systems are all required for this position. In addition, you will need to have strong financial literacy and be a strong communicator. The Account Executive is the strategic point person within the service team dedicated to the client. In addition, all Account Executives are expected to participate in continuing education to maintain their licenses, stay current with all regulations and enhance insurance knowledge.

  • Work closely with other key members of a client team including the Producer, Practice Leader, Account Manager & Account Specialist to service and retain clients and identify new growth opportunities within existing clients.
  • Oversee all client objectives and delivery of final product as well as financial oversight of the client
  • Pro-actively manage all assigned accounts including strategy, multi-year planning and design execution and implementation of benefit plans and account activities
  • Review data to be used to market new opportunities
  • Evaluate renewals and work directly with carriers and vendors to negotiate rates, contracts and plan designs
  • Work with team on presentations to prospective clients as appropriate and participate in prospect meetings as appropriate
  • Provide continuous updating of client's business objectives, strategies and issues as well as client's Human Resources objectives, strategies and issues
  • Regularly communicate with the assigned client services team members including Producer, Account Managers, Account Specialists and insurance and product marketplace individuals
  • Regular review of financial information and claims activity with engagement team inclusive of the client and regular communication with the client as to the performance of the plan

Our future colleague:

We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes the following:
  • 10+ years' experience working in Employee Benefits insurance with at least 3 years in an insurance brokerage environment
  • A valid state appropriate insurance license for Life/Health
  • High proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills necessary for interacting with prospects and existing clients
  • Excellent client facing presentation skills and negotiation skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration or other related fields
  • Knowledge of web-based agency management systems such as Benefitpoint and ImageRight is preferred
  • Insurance designations

The applicable base salary range for this role is $56,400 to $120,500. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
