Vice President of Engineering at TSI

As the Vice President of Engineering, you will lead the engineering team and play a critical role in the overall direction and execution of the company's strategy. You will manage day-to-day engineering operations and work closely with the engineering leadership team to drive results and deliver world class solutions. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will participate in overall business strategy decisions, product roadmaps and value creation for shareholders.

The Vice President of Engineering manages and directs product development engineering for TSI. The priorities for this position include strategic planning, product conceptualization, new product development, quality assurance, project management, product compliance and continuation engineering. The Vice President of Engineering must drive execution to meet company objectives, partner with senior management, and develop systems and controls to ensure investment roadmaps are realized.The Vice President of Engineering will be responsible for building, growing, and leading a team of engineering managers, design engineers, and engineering services to build quality products to meet our customers' requirements while meeting TSI's strategic goals. The Vice President will responsible for optimizing engineering processes across both software and hardware development.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and delivery of products on-time and on-budget.
  • Implementing strategies to continually improve new product development velocity, product reduction, and product quality.
  • Managingcontinuation engineering activities to address component obsolescence, quality issues, and incremental product enhancements.
  • Working in close collaboration with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure design for manufacturability and service.
  • Building a strong technical organization and provide leadership including hiring and employee development.
  • Managingthe engineering organization's budget in collaboration with VP of Finance
  • Coordinatingwith the sales and marketing team to drive new demand generation strategies for solutions and services offerings.
  • Working with Strategic Sourcing to establish and maintain key vendor partnerships.
  • Jointly managingIntellectual Property with Legal department

What Do You Need?
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred from an accredited institution
  • 15 years of experience in Electrical Engineering (Hardware, Firmware, HeSaas) with demonstrated experience in systems engineering
  • 7-10 years' experience program/project management
  • Experience in and Agile software development environment
  • Experience managingand motivating engineering managers and multidisciplinary engineers
  • Strong critical thinking and sound decision-making capability.
  • Proven success contributing to product strategy and delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Marketing and Sales Functions
  • Competitive spirit and drive to win.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills with the ability to explain approach to all levels in the organization including key stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable of industry trends, best practices, and change management.
  • Willing to travel (< 15%)
Desired
  • An advanced technical degree, Master's degree,Ph.D., in Electrical Engineeringfrom an accredited institution.
