This role will be focused on the Marketplace Customer Experience, Traffic and Discovery
platform. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer who
will play a critical role in finding trends in data sets and developing algorithms to make the data
useful for projects, working along with others within the Marketplace engineering organization
and business stakeholders. The Customer Experience, Traffic and Discovery platform team's
mission is to offer a best-in-class, resilient, scalable and best in class ecosystem for Walmart
customers.
You will need to be a self-starter with bias for action and excellent communication skills. This is
a rare opportunity, moving at the speed of a startup, with the backing and in house data of the
Fortune 1 company. You will drive projects of high visibility across the
organization while leading the work of other small groups of engineers across geographies.
About the team:
Marketplace Engineering team is at the forefront of building core platforms and services to
enable Walmart to deliver vast selection at competitive prices and with best-in-class post-order
experience by enabling third-party sellers to list, sell and manage their products to our
customers on walmart.com. We do this by managing the entire seller lifecycle, monitoring
customer experience, and deliver high- value insights to our sellers to help them plan their
assortment, price, inventory. The team also actively collaborates with partner platform teams
to ensure we continue to deliver the best experience to our sellers and our customers.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer for Global Tech, your focus will be finding trends in data sets and
developing next-generation algorithms to make the data useful for projects. You will partner
with data science, product, engineering and business. You will need to be a self-starter with
bias for action and excellent communication skills. Together, we will pioneer technologies that
reinvent the customer and associate experience, new ways of working, and new ways of
shopping.

What You'll Do
* Work with other Data Engineers to assist in the discovery phases of integrating with
multiple internal systems and teams to ingest data and identify new ideas to forecast business
and operational issues.
* Analyze complex data elements and develop data models that are easily digestible to help
the team make best decisions based off the data.
* Write code, create test cases and proof of concepts. Translate business problems to data
related mathematical solutions.
What You'll Need
o 6+ years relevant experience in the 2 or more of the following
o Python, JS, Java
o SQL, Oracle, API Integrations
o Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure
o Spark, PySpark, Hive
o Data Structures
o 5+ years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or
business analytics.
