Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The International Spend Management strategic procurement transformation journey has advanced to the next level of creating new value through Multi-Market Leverage for Walmart. This is a new role in the recently formed Multi-Market Leverage team assigned to the Corporate Services Tower, exceeding $1B in annual spend. The primary focus is to develop and execute International sourcing strategies and events that span across multiple markets, regions, and the globe. This role will require a highly motivated and talented professional with a strong ability to collaborate across borders and functions to create and deliver results while leveraging the scale of One Walmart.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains advanced category strategies in conjunction with business unit stakeholders and Market ISM teams, across the indirect spend categories.
  • Building regional leverage networks and project teams to form aligned sourcing pipelines and project management
  • Develops innovative approaches to strategic sourcing while using analytics and processes to determine scenarios, benefits, risks, and change management impact of each of those options
  • Develops and manages strong relationships with business unit stakeholders and market ISM procurement colleagues, as well as accesses market intelligence to enable fact-based prioritization of opportunities
  • Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to identify and implement innovative ideas. Identify new and emerging suppliers with differentiating core capabilities
  • Develops and executes complex supplier negotiations strategies
  • Assists in managing supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement in areas of cost savings, quality, and risk management
  • Address any escalated questions or concerns related to strategic sourcing policies, processes, and decisions


Required Education and Experience:
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, economics, technology, or related field and 2 years' experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field. Option 2: 4 years' experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.
  • Adaptive to fast paced, constantly changing environments
  • Ability to work as part of a global team to collaborate across geographic and organizational boundaries to deliver better business results and share best practices
  • Subject matter expertise in strategic sourcing, including in-depth knowledge of industry structure, economic drivers, supplier solvency and competitive situations
  • Excellent communicator with strong persuasion and influencing skills
  • Robust analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Specific expertise in designated indirect spend categories, as applicable
  • Demonstrating strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) software


Professional Designations:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) designations
