Primary Responsibility / Summary

Drives tractor/trailers and straight trucks as assigned to deliver and/or collect goods. Per company Policy, all our employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Regularly inspects vehicle and fills out daily inspection forms.
  • Complies with company safety procedures and Department of Motor Vehicles regulations. Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Exchanges donation trailers.
  • Loads, secures and unloads goods.
  • Completes assigned route efficiently.
  • Ensures all related paperwork is filled out correctly.
  • Presents friendly, cooperative attitude; is well-groomed at all times.
  • Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Driving records must meet the requirements of company's insurance carrier.
  • 10.Ability to lift 50 lbs.

    Education & Experience
    • 2-3 years of Class A driving experience.
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
    • Good communication skills with pleasant customer service attitude.
    • Ability to work without supervision.
    • Spanish / English bilingual preferred.

    Qualifications
    • Must pass forklift operator certification within 90 days of signing job description.
    • Shift flexibility and overtime when needed.
    • Ability to handle confidential information.
    • Punctual and dependable attendance.
    • Free from alcohol and drug abuse.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    • Valid CA Class A driver's license.
    • Valid medical certification card.

    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
