Job Summary
Responsible for governing testing standards and processes for the testing team within Flagstar's technology environment. This includes managing the appropriate test processes and tools to meet the testing needs from different testing teams.
Engage with project teams early in project life-cycle to determine test strategies. Partner with different line of business teams to ensure the needed test strategy is correctly selected. Recommend and train on testing tools to provide testing teams the ability to effectively test their applications. Coordinate and supervise regression, specialized tests across different lines of business to ensure efficient and accurate delivery of test execution.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implements and manages TCOE methodology & QA process for testing programs.Works in Agile and Waterfall test methodologies, process and template while defining test strategies and Test plans for large engagements. Responsible for testing 5-10 projects at any given time within the IT department.
  • Establishes key testing milestones.Effectively works with line of business test teams through Regression and specialized testing, test effort estimations, test data management, and risk management, defect resolution/review meetings, test summary reports, post project analysis and deferred defect analysis.
  • Coordinates and leads strategic communication plans between onshore and offshore test and development teams. Creates, updates and executes automated test cases/scripts. Reviews and verifies functional and system requirements and ensure project deliverables adhere to QA criteria and comply with the requirements prior to deployment.Leads off-shore and on-shore testing teams across multiple priorities simultaneously (up to 10-15 teams).
  • Assists QA Leads and/or Project/Program Manager(s) in identifying and prioritizing testing related risks and mitigation approaches to achieve the goals of the project.
  • Oversees the coordination, status reporting and stability of test efforts from line of business perspective. Subject matter expert in test consulting, test planning, leading large test engagements.
  • Oversees the selection, assessment and assignment of testing resources to Flagstar projects.
  • Staff member is expected to consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to their job as listed. Staff member will not repeatedly act in a manner signifying intentional or willful noncompliance, nor exhibit gross negligence or a general disregard for compliance and regulatory standards. Staff member must ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Staff member must complete all required compliance training on a timely basis. Staff member will maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Staff member must take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Must possess knowledge and proficiency in the use of project management methodologies and tools, SQL.
  • 8+ years' experience in Test Management, quality assurance and software testing.
  • Software development lifecycle with special emphasis on QA & UAT testing.
  • Ability to design and coordinate creation of tools that work with multiple complex systems.
  • Ideal candidate will relish problem-solving and being responsible for the testing of large IT systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem solver.
  • Experience in software Quality Assurance.
  • Experience with UFT and Selenium.
  • Experience working with distributed (off-shore) testing teams.
  • Demonstrated testing skills and experience including all facets of the Software Lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance practices & testing methodologies.
  • Experience performing daily day defect triage and reviewing defects with multiple development team and managing the defect thru its life cycle.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal skills-networking, building relationships, teamwork.
  • Self-motivated, work well in a team structure or independently.
  • Success in communicating project and critical applications QA status to key stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Working experience on automation on web applications.
  • Extensive working experience in integration, system, Smoke, regression testing, risk based testing.
  • Experience in JMeter, Neoload, UFT, Selenium, SQL, Unix & Soap UI.
  • Experience in non-functional testing, performance, load, stress and longevity testing.
  • Able to work with little supervision, initiates action, self-motivated.
