Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

The Systems Training Specialist will be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert in the new transactional accounting system, utilizing system knowledge to create and maintain training materials, and leading virtual and in person training sessions. The Systems Training Specialist will play a critical role in the implementation of the new transactional accounting system across multiple divisions located throughout the United States, and compile, develop, and propose system enhancements to optimize the operational effectiveness of the system. The Systems Training Specialist must be able to interact and connect with system end users from different functional areas, and with different skill sets.

  • Manage and drive the transaction accounting system software rollout for a diverse user group across the raw materials division. This includes working with multiple locations and third-party vendors.
  • Create and develop training materials and standard operating procedures related to the new software.
  • Participate as an instructor in training programs to ensure users can effectively use the new system. This includes developing a power user group to assist in the field with training and questions.
  • Work with cross functional teams to recommend software modifications and enhancement to existing applications, processes, and features to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Serve as a primary resource for training, system questions, and issues for the end users.
  • Provide efficient, timely and professional solutions to system problems and perform other duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A college degree or equivalent related business experience.
  • Understanding of the fundamental concepts and practices utilized in accounting including financial accounting and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with all levels of personnel within the Company, and with outside vendors and customers.
  • Minimum 50% travel will be required to meet project and training obligations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to implement and maintain core business systems under a Best Practices approach including leading group training on new applications.
  • Professional training experience
  • Scrap metal industry experience
