Pennoni currently has an opening in our Philadelphia, PA office for a full-time Staff Traffic Engineer with experience consistent with, but not limited to:

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform technical analysis, design, and traffic engineering tasks for a wide range of transportation infrastructure, highway, and land development projects.
  • Lead, develop, assist with, and review traffic impact studies, highway occupancy permits, specifications, signal design and plans, maintenance and protection of traffic and signing plans, PS&E packages, and reports.
  • May oversee work of junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Communicate and collaborate with design teams and clients.
  • Assist project managers in the development of proposals, scope of works, fee, and cost estimates.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by senior leadership and overall business needs.
  • The candidate will utilize and should have knowledge of and experience with software packages such as Synchro, Tru-Traffic, Vistro, VISSIM, Petra, HCS, Sidra, HSM, MicroStation, AutoCAD, AutoTURN, and Guidesign.

Additional Required Attributes:
  • Degree Required: BS Civil Engineering - with a Transportation Engineering concentration
  • Licenses required: Professional Engineer

Preferred Attributes:
  • PTOE certification preferred but not required. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and with others on multiple projects to meet multiple deadlines. Working knowledge of appropriate Federal Highway Administration, AASHTO, PennDOT, and other relevant guidelines, including the MUTCD
