What We Are Looking For

Working at our JEC Innovation Center in Tinley Park, Illinois, you will utilize your design and analysis skills to develop products from concept to implementation. The team develops innovative products for all business units in Panduit (Enterprise & Data Center, Industrial Automation and Industrial & Electrical). These products include active safety devices, power devices, wireless devices with a focus on electronic design and circuit development. Your expertise in application architecture, circuit design (both analog and digital), schematic capture, circuit prototyping, circuit testing, circuit debugging, coordinating multiple vendors, and interfacing directly with the manufacturing organizations will be critical to your success in this role. We will rely on your skill set to develop and verify new designs, implement innovative designs into production, and work with vendors and sourcing to support new product launches and lifecycle activities. Our state-of-the art facilities and equipment will provide you with opportunities to see your designs move from concept to production as you solve problems in our customer-focused environment.

What You Will Do

As a technical leader in a project team:
  • Propose/contribute to system level design. Design and lead architecture level diagram, schematic capture, prototype, and test activities for electronic products
  • Test and verify new concepts/designs.
  • Implement designs into production.
  • Work with vendors and sourcing to define technical requirements for the product/components.
  • Create and execute test plans for hardware and software validation.
  • Design and implement electrical stress tests to ensure the reliability of the product.
  • Design and implement test fixtures to verify the circuit boards and functionality of the final product.
What You Will Bring
  • BSEE (MSEE or higher degree preferred) with at least 10 years of hardware development experience.
  • Digital and Analog (e.g., drivers, power supplies, batteries) hardware design and development experience at the product level
  • Product/Design experience in power products (e.g., UPS, rack-PDU, power distribution products, ...)
  • The ability to lead/work closely with other engineers, lab technicians, product management and customers in a team environment.
  • Microcontroller based hardware design and development experience at the product level.
  • Working level experience with board support software packages, C, C++. Manufacturing process experience is a plus (i.e., bringing a product from concept through to volume production)
  • Experience in the following areas is required: electronic design and development process, product design and development process, change management system, reliability test, compliance test (performance, environmental and certification), and manufacture test.
  • Schematic capture experience is required (Altium Designer is a plus)
  • Physical circuit board layout experience (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, Mentor, Cadence Allegro) a plus
