Position Overview:

Motiva is seeking a Senior Manager for Strategy, Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions to join our team! This role sits in the Strategy and Business Development group- the team responsible for leading the development and implementation of Motiva's enterprise corporate strategy. This role supports Motiva's strategy by delivering sustained cash growth, exercising strict financial discipline and stewardship throughout the organization and serves as knowledge base to educate Strategy & Business Development and Leadership on key levers on transactions that enhance cash flow.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate accretive refining, chemicals, logistics and retail acquisitions as they become available
  • Lead inorganic growth and divestment opportunities for Motiva from deal ideation or receiving inbound offers through deal assessment and negotiation to deal execution including integration
  • Lead multi-functional teams to deliver cash accretive transactions that further Motiva and Aramco's strategic objectives
  • Focal point for Executive Leadership Team on transactional matters
  • Act as key interface for Investment banks and other financial institutions
  • Enhance synergies with Aramco affiliates, including SABIC - continue to serve as interface with Aramco functions on all transactions in the M&A space

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Basic Qualifications:
  • BS or higher in Engineering, Economics or Finance
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Downstream segment
  • Proven track record assisting in delivering complex and material transactions across different business segments
  • Demonstrated ability of commercial structuring and negotiation
  • History of working closely with Executives and Executive Leadership Teams
  • High degree of commercial acumen rooted in a robust, practical understanding of the downstream and midstream
  • Experience working closely with Joint Venture and private equity structures
  • Experience developing creative commercial solutions
  • Established network of industry contacts
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Effective management of internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and make quick, informed decisions
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization and inform and influence high levels of the organization
  • Must have ability to work in our Downtown Houston office Monday- Thursday

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive understanding of project economic principles including DCF modeling
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive negotiation strategies for complex commercial opportunities
  • Ability to develop and execute complex structured commercial opportunities with different partnering strategies
  • Experience with private equity partners is not required but is a differentiator
  • Results-oriented with emphasis on applying business processes in a fit-for-purpose manner to maximize results
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to distill complex situations into manageable constituent parts
  • Self-motivated with the ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple work activities simultaneously
