Meet the team:

The algorithms team is focused on creating significant value by driving Dexcom's world-class continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology into new applications, such as non-intensive type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, and pregnancy (including gestational diabetes). These important initiatives are entrepreneurial by nature, as they may require novel go-to-market strategies and development of new technologies. Where you come in:

You are an integral member of the algorithm team and will:

  • Develop robust and commercialize algorithms for new applications of CGM
  • Develop novel algorithms based on multiple physiological data streams
  • Develop tools for assessment of CGM in various environments
  • Perform assessments of CGM manufacturing processes
  • Apply data mining and machine learning techniques to extract valuable information and patterns from clinical and commercial data sets that can be leveraged in support of new technology development
  • Support modeling efforts to characterize and predict the impact and interactions of various biological and sensing system contributors to CGM accuracy
  • Develop and run simulation tools
  • Present results to cross-functional teams
  • Generate reports and support publications

What makes you successful:

You are technically proficient and bring:
  • A detailed understanding of statistics, mathematical modeling and machine learning
  • An ability to write/execute modeling and analysis programs to drive research & development activities (e.g. Matlab, Python (required), etc.)
  • A capability to understand clinical and academic literature from area of mathematics, machine learning, statistics, diabetes, & physiology
  • A strong desire to collaborate with both technical and cross-functional teams
  • An ability to deal with ambiguity/uncertainty and a willingness to try new/challenging things
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills including written and verbal communication ability
  • Signal processing and programming experience (required)
  • Knowledge of physiology and associated mathematical modeling methods and techniques (preferred)
  • Experience working with large datasets, SQL, and Cloud-based tools (preferred)
  • Command of statistical analytical methods for assessing accuracy, performance, and reliability of algorithms

Experience and Education:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Masters degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.

Exempt Salary Details:

  • The annual base salary range for this role is $100,700 to $167,900. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
