Job Summary

Under direct supervision, the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) Project Coordinator plans and coordinates activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for the All-Battery Division. This role coordinates and oversees all testing projects as well as assists the ISO Administrator in driving adherence and maintenance of Quality Management System (QMS) procedures for the organization. In addition, this role assists/supports all other roles in the SQE Lab to help day to day throughput and provide cover for staff during absences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, coordinates, and help lead multiple testing projects and priorities simultaneously in the SQE Lab.
  • Liaises with management and clients to identify and define project requirements, scopes, and objectives that align with organizational goals.
  • Analyzes project progress, when necessary, adapts scope, timelines, and costs to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Reports project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed-escalating issues based on project work plans.
  • Ensures product quality meets company's standards by using recognized Quality System sampling and testing procedures.
  • Works with Supplier Quality Engineer and Engineering Lead Technician to resolve corrective action requests and quality issues for both customers and suppliers.
  • Maintains historical quality information by filing reports and other testing and/or related documents.
  • Prepares reports by analyzing and summarizing collected data.
  • Coordinates and executes special quality projects under direction of management.
  • Participates and supports departmental and organizational based continuous improvement activities.
  • Assists the ISO Administrator in developing/maintaining ISO 13485 procedures, work instructions, and resolving Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPAs) and/or Change Requests.
  • Capable of functioning as a backup for SQE Technicians in their absence by engaging in testing, measuring, monitoring inventory, handling supplier returns, overseeing incoming inspection, and returned/warranty product.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Preferred: Associates Degree in technical field or 4 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems & regulations for ISO 13485, FDA 21CFR part 820, and MDSAP
  • Self-motivated leader and a team player who is able to motivate coworkers in a positive manner
  • Proficiency with communication and ability to work with all personality types
  • Knowledge in process documentation and ability to manage databases and test regimes
  • Strong battery knowledge to evaluate pass/fail testing.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong computer skills with experience working in Excel and Word
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks as required while prioritizing daily workload/competing requirements
  • Ability to enter data into database and communicate with both vendors and customers via phone or email
  • Ability to safely attach batteries to tester
  • Ability to work independently or with a small team of coworkers

Scope Data
  • Ability to work as a team as well as work independently to effectively resolve workload fluctuation.
  • Make decisions on pass/fail of batteries and communicate requests for improvements to vendors.
  • Design, perform, and analyze battery tests and then communicate with management as well as customers.

  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 75+ lbs.
  • Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
  • May be exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as exposure to moving equipment mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
