Overview

This position supports the execution of the WC underwriting strategy by analyzing key performance metrics and reporting on results and trends, including recommended action plans. Analysis includes specific and focused project assignments in areas of variance to planned results. Day to day activities involve independent, self-directed, dynamic analysis based on high level objectives. Individual initiative and ability to "connect the dots" are essential. Employee must maintain a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for the analysis of underwriting related data to provide insightful observations and trends
  • Ability to compile and document results in a clear and concise manner with conclusions that are supported by the work performed
  • Works collaboratively with team members to understand, review, analyze and evaluate business needs
  • Coordinate and collaborate with regional business leaders and other internal departments
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill performing internal underwriting audits for the Workers Compensation product, under limited supervision
  • Performs new business post bind reviews of accounts daily and ensures they are written within company guidelines
  • Proactively engages with internal staff to discuss audit results
  • Assist in educating internal staff on underwriting appetite and protocols in conjunction with corporate guidelines
  • Ability to keep current with latest underwriting guidelines and authorities
  • Performs other functionally related projects as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Must have workers compensation underwriting expertise including a strong knowledge of workers compensation classification and demonstrated technical knowledge of workers compensation coverage, risk selection and pricing
  • Strong analytical ability and organizational skills. In addition, must have a demonstrated ability to lead, plan and work well with others
  • Ability to make sound contributions to tactical and strategic planning
  • Ability to train, coach and mentor individuals of various backgrounds within area of expertise
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
