SUMMARY: Provide technical designs, project management, assistance and support for assigned department duties and provide leadership to junior engineering staff.
§ Manage and oversee activities on multiple engineering projects conducted by junior engineering staff.
§ Communicate accurately and effectively with Engineering Manager and Senior Management on projects.
§ Provide mentoring and guidance to junior level staff.
§ Take on senior level role in assisting, and at times, substituting for the Engineering Manager.
§ Schedule and complete engineering projects in support of any of the following: plant operations, maintenance, distribution and metering operations, customer needs and business development activities.
§ Provide designs for maximum system reliability, safety and construction.
§ Update and review drawings.
§ Review new customer proposals.
§ Conduct data collection and project reporting.
§ Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
§ Able to communicate effectively and courteously with all levels of employees, customers, vendors and the public.
§ Able to climb and tolerate heights, enclosed areas and higher than normal temperatures.
§ Able to work outside of normal business hours.
§ Maintain safe working conditions: identify, correct and report unsafe conditions in work areas.
§ Perform all assignments in compliance with published company operating procedures.
§ B.S Degree in Engineering. Preferably in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university;
§ Minimum of 3 years as a working engineer preferably in a utility or heavy industry, with a sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria.
§ Strong level of experience managing contractors on construction and installation projects.
§ Demonstrated computer proficiency in Excel, Word, database management programs, project scheduling programs and CAD software (Microstation, AutoCAD, etc.).
