The Senior Planner will be responsible for developing production plans that fulfill current and future customer needs while managing lead times and costing in our climate-controlled facility. This role will report into the Manufacturing Manager. This position will be located full time on-site in West Chester, PA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide production scheduling to all cells looking at least 4 weeks out on a weekly basis & maintain 2-week dynamic plans at all times.
  • Plan materials to support daily linear build as per revenue plan for the month to deliver product on time as per customer demand.
  • Create and improve production planning tools to ensure execution of build plans with appropriate lead time to meet customer request date.
  • Coordinate smooth functions of and interfaces daily with sales, customer service, buyers, and manufacturing to ensure all customer needs are addressed and customer ship dates are met.
  • Work closely with Supervisors to dynamically deploy associates per business needs.
  • Implement planning functionalities in an MRP system to drive planning on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Forecast capacity constraints and create recovery plans based on monthly demand planning.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments and levels of management.
  • Responsible for following safety and quality system procedures as required.
  • Lead & Participate in daily and weekly production review meetings

Job Requirements

Critical Competencies
  • Working knowledge of materials planning with & without an MRP system
  • Ability to recognize incoming material date information/validate scheduled PO deliveries and adjust schedule accordingly
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and implement root cause countermeasures
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Communicate effectively with all departments and levels of management
  • Must be able to work extended hours and have a flexible schedule

Education and Experience Requirements
  • B.S. in an Engineering, Supply Chain, or other Business field equivalent
  • 5+ years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • MRP knowledge and experience required
  • High proficiency in Excel is required
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or lean manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Exposure to ISO 9000 preferred
