Matrix Providers is potentially hiring a Senior Mind-Body Therapist Coordinator to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in Bethesda, Maryland.

  • Employment Status: Full time
  • Compensation: This is a salaried position
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-6:00 PM

Requirements: The Occupational Therapist must have and meet the following:
  • Degree: Master of Science in Yoga Therapy or the equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS). Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a
    current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check
    (NACLC).
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of 4 years of experience within the preceding 6 years in mind-body medicine (yoga, meditation, mindfulness-based stress reduction practices), preferably in a clinical setting. Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience teaching adults contemplative mind-body practices (meditation, yoga, tai chi, qi gong, or other) in a group and individual setting. Knowledge and experience in the relationship between medical, complementary, and alternative medicine (CAM) and psychological aspects of health and disease. Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in adult education (college, university teaching, or similar). Possess experience in writing educational content and marketing materials for mind-body topics.
  • Licensure: Must possess appropriate qualifications, licenses, and certification for various mind-body practices: C-IAYT (Certified, International Association of Yoga Therapists); E-YRT500 (Yoga Alliance Registered 500-hour yoga teacher)
Job Summary:
  • The Mind-Body Medicine Senior Therapist (MBMST) is a primary care clinics healthcare team member who operates a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) model of care.
  • The MBMST shall work with the Behavioral Health Consultants and other members of Integrative Health & Wellness (IHW) to provide consultation services to all patients referred by the primary care team.
  • The MBMST shall deliver consultationbased services to patients and Primary Care Managers (PCMs) using an integrated care model.
  • Possess specialized knowledge of evidence-based treatment for general behavioral health problems (e.g., depression, anxiety, etc.) within mind-body medicine. Administer established professional treatment procedures; teach and guide patients in utilizing the treatment activities of the specialized therapy field.
  • The MBMST shall deliver Mind & Body programs/classes to beneficiaries and staff of the PCMH.
  • The MBMST shall help create an adaptable, flexible, and exportable program to meet the needs of the Defense Health Agency (DHA)/Military Health System (MHS).
  • Monitor the individuals response to interventions, modify the treatment plan, and reevaluate as necessary.
  • The Mind-Body Medicine Senior Therapist (MBMST) shall design, develop, build, and manage the Mind-Body Medicine program, including, but not limited to, serving as subject matter experts on all issues related to mind-body medicine. Design, develop, build, manage, and deliver mind-body programs and classes to beneficiaries and staff that will be adaptable, flexible, and exportable to meet the needs of the DHA/MHS.
