Senior Learning \u0026 Development Specialist

As the Senior Learning & Development Specialist (SRLD) at Byline Bank, you will support the L&D manager, L&D & HR team with current and emerging training needs. The position is responsible for conducting thorough training needs analysis and creating and implementing impactful training initiatives using a variety of learning experiences - in-person training classes, live virtual webinar sessions, on-demand videos, etc. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with content authoring tools (Articulate & Camtasia). The successful candidate assess and anticipates training needs and can align emerging needs to the business objectives of the organization.

Critical Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Manage delivery of complex training programs that are business-critical and have bottom line impact from initiation to delivery.
  • Leverage data analytics to drive decisions and evaluate the effectiveness of training efforts.
  • Continually drive training assessments and uncover needs for future trainings. Develop ideas for continuous improvement and be able to design a thorough plan for translating ideas into training solutions.

Essential Functions:

60% - Project Management

  • Strong executional skills to develop trainings, mange time appropriately and adapt to multiple priorities.
  • Develops and implements consistent methods and metrics to measure the effectiveness of training (i.e., strategies to measure return on investment).
  • Creates and manage the communication strategy for promoting and highlighting key training processes and activities across the Bank.
  • Experience building, interpreting, and communicating performance metrics to multiple organizational levels
  • Build, manage, and maintain comprehensive project plans to execute strategies in alignment with organizational priorities
  • Continually communicate project status to stakeholders with risks, deviations to baseline, and mitigation plans
  • Superior interpersonal skills to build relationships cross-functionally throughout the organization.

40% - Content Design, Measurement and Management
  • Develop aspects of training initiatives, from ideation and curriculum development to facilitator training and evaluation
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) as appropriate, to develop learning solutions to improve business performance
  • Responsible for curriculum development (scoping, writing, and editing), instructional design, content development, course delivery and facilitation, learning assessment, and training evaluation.
  • Conduct skill assessments analyze learning needs to identify gaps and create training materials and programs designed to meet those needs.
  • Experience developing and implementing training goals and strategies based on broader organization goals
  • Maintain training programs and learning solutions such as in-person training classes, live virtual webinar sessions, on-demand videos, interactive tutorial simulations, and hands-on labs
  • Design e-learning solutions using Articulate software
  • Track the success of training materials and programs, and make improvements and adjustments as needed

Minimum Requirements
  • Highly organized and motivated with demonstrated successes in managing complex organizational initiatives
  • At least 3 years’ experience project managing the development of multiple adult learning programs simultaneously.
  • At least 2 years’ experience designing, developing, and implementing training solutions
  • A strong focus on internal customers’ needs, with an emphasis in demonstrating return on investment in training.
  • Experience with content authoring software such as Articulate Storyline preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence others without having positional authority
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize, manage, and complete projects with tight deadlines
  • Capable of performing effectively in complex situations with limited guidance.
  • Results oriented and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving and changing priorities; resilient and flexible.
  • Resourceful - ability to find solutions and answers with limited tools, resources and budget
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • he ideal candidate must be self-driven with a high degree of ownership and have strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and planning/project management skills.

  • Proven experience with the design, development, implementation and measurement of classroom, self-directed online and virtual synchronous learning solutions that positively impact the business.
