Zoetis, the global leader in animal health, is seeking a highly skilled and innovative SAP Solution Architect to play a critical role in our S4 transformation program. This position is essential to the success of our ERP initiatives, ensuring that the architecture of our SAP solutions aligns with Zoetis' strategic business objectives and operational requirements.
As the SAP Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business. You will act as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex business requirements into scalable, efficient, and compliant SAP architectures. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our SAP landscape supports both current operations and future growth, driving value across the organization.
In this capacity, you will lead the architectural design of SAP solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards. You will work closely with global teams to develop and deliver high-quality, validated SAP solutions, while also fostering innovation and continuous improvement in our ERP landscape. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and mitigating risks, managing change, and ensuring the successful delivery of SAP projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Alignment of IT and Business Goals: Ensure that the SAP architecture aligns with the company's overall business objectives and long-term strategic goals, integrating SAP solutions seamlessly into the broader IT landscape.
- Design and Governance of SAP Architecture: Lead the design and governance of the SAP architecture, including core modules like SAP S/4HANA, ensuring they meet current and future business needs while adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Technology Road mapping: Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap for SAP, outlining the evolution of SAP landscapes, identifying opportunities for innovation, and anticipating future challenges.
- Integration Management: Oversee the integration of SAP solutions with other enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability across the organization's IT ecosystem.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT leaders, and project teams to understand requirements, define solutions, and ensure that SAP implementations deliver expected business value.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with SAP implementations and ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and corporate standards throughout the SAP environment.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of SAP systems, ensuring they operate efficiently, meet SLAs, and support critical business processes effectively.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Manage relationships with SAP and other technology vendors, ensuring that the organization leverages the full value of its SAP investments and that third-party solutions integrate effectively with SAP systems.
- Change Management and Adoption: Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of SAP solutions across the organization, including user training, communication strategies, and ongoing support to maximize return on investment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Alignment and Vision:Define target architecture - Develop a comprehensive blueprint for both the interim state and future state of the SAP landscape, including Edge applications that align with the overall business strategy.
Business Process Optimization - Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement through NextGen ERP.
Data Strategy - Define, in coordination with the NextGen Data office, the overall data governance, quality and migration strategies to support both NextGen implementation but also development of reusable assest to support the planned enterprise growth.
Cloud Strategy - Support SAP Rise and Cloud product design and implementation to include roadmaps for migration and future use of cloud applications within the ERP Portfolio.
Technical Architecture and Design:System Landscape - Define optimal technical architecture, including system components, client strategy, integration points and infrastructure.
Data Model Design - Develop the data model to support S4's in-memory capabilities and data-driven decision-making tools.
Integration Architecture - Design integration strategies for connecting S4 with all Edge systems through delivery of reusable archetypes and assets to support future growth initiatives.
Technology Roadmap - Create a roadmap for technology adoption and innovation within the SAP ecosystem, including edge systems that align directly to product roadmaps across product towers.
Project Leadership and Execution:Solution Architecture - Lead the design and development of the future state processes, ensuring alignment to business requirements and end to end processes across the enterprise.
Risk Management - Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the implementation project.
Change Management - Develop strategies for managing the technology changes required across the ZTD enterprise and ensure full alignment of all applications within the portfolio.
Stakeholder Management - Act as the solution owner for the NextGen ERP Program, building relationships with key leaders throughout the program to act as the trusted advisor to drive decision making within the program.
Additional Responsibilities:
Cost-Benefits Analysis - Evaluate the financial impact for all implementation changes, including financial return on investment and any offset driven by simplification within the technology landscape.
Performance Optimization - Ensure optimal performance of the SAP systems through tuning and configuration, working with ERP technologist as needed to provide leadership.
Security and compliance - Ensure all solutions meet security and compliance needs across the enterprise, including the protection of data within the ERP landscape and alignment to all industry regulations.
Serve as a key member of the ERP Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction and governance of ERP solutions at Zoetis.
Help set the direction for the use of ERP solutions to meet the company's growth ambitions, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Additional Requirements:SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Professional - System Security Architect, SAP Certified Development Specialist) are highly desirable.
TOGAF or other industry recognized technology architecture certification.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTSExperience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in SAP architecture roles.
- Proven experience in leading the architecture and design of large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementations.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, SD, MM, PP) and their integration points within the S/4HANA environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., SAP HANA Cloud, AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud architectures.
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Proficiency in SAP architecture tools and technologies, including SAP Solution Manager, SAP Fiori, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and SAP Data Services.
- Knowledge of integration technologies such as SAP PI/PO, APIs, and microservices.
- Strong understanding of data management, data migration strategies, and reporting solutions within SAP environments.
- Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, finance).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities, with a focus on delivering results.

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS This role will require occasional weekend working to meet customer needs for minimizing business impact of change. Expected travel between 20-50% for this role depending upon project demands.
