We are a growing, 150-employee startup (well funded, series B, backed by a former chairman of Google) that is disrupting the retail space. We are backed by three VERY well known figures and have a SaaS offering that utilizes AI along with cutting edge technologies to truly understand our customer base to cater to them, ensuring repeat long-standing business.

Our HQ is based in NY, with offices in FL and MA - this will be 100% REMOTE.

What You Will Be Doing - You'll be leading the roadmap for the future of our tech stack, making decisions on what languages/frameworks to use moving forward.
- We're a lead backend team of 3 right now.
- Your responsibilities will include leading the low-level integration with external clients, developing backend architecture as well as participating in the core product development.
What You Need for this Position - 4+ years of experience in Java (Spring) backend development, including understanding of JVM & infrastructure technologies
- Python
- Knowledge of Linux systems and deployment best practices
- BS in Computer Science (or an equivalent) from a reputable academic institute

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with direct TCP/IP programming (including definition and implementation of application-level protocols)
- Prior start-up experience
