Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently sourcing for a Runner/Helper to join our team in Freeport, Texas.

U.S. Only: Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required .

  • Drives to various vendor locations to pick up parts, tools, equipment, materials etc. needed for the construction project.
  • Delivers items to specified project locations.
  • May drive truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations.
  • May maintain vehicle log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • May maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • May load and unload truck.
  • Completes and maintains a daily safety inspection report on vehicle driven.
  • May position blocks and tie rope around items to secure cargo during transit.


Skills / Qualifications

  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must qualify as an authorized driver for AMEC owned, rented and leased equipment.
  • Be a minimum of twenty one-years of age. Employees between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one must receive prior approval to operate a company owned, leased or rented motor vehicle from either the VP of construction or the VP of construction operations.
  • Driver is responsible to verify that a current vehicle registration and certificate of insurance is in the vehicle.
  • Drivers will abide by all federal, state, provincial and local motor vehicle regulations, laws and ordinances.
  • Driver is responsible to report any accidents or serious moving violations involving a company owned, leased or rented motor vehicle immediately to their supervisor.
  • Drivers are not authorized to request or make any major repairs or modifications of the vehicle until receiving approval from the corporate business offices.
  • Drivers are responsible for scheduling and coordinating routine maintenance in accordance with the manufactures recommended intervals.
