Job Summary
The RMBS Analyst is responsible for providing quantitative and data-driven analysis & modeling to support Flagstar's RMBS program and other areas of interest in Capital Markets. He/she contributes to the success of the business by supporting the pricing and modeling of the products securitized by Flagstar, jumbo pricing, best execution analysis, surveillance reporting & benchmarking.

Job Responsibilities:

Analysis:

  • Perform market analysis, and obtain market color to constantly maintain accuracy of the jumbo pricing model.
  • Evaluate and enhance stability, conceptual soundness, assumptions, and mathematical logic of existing jumbo pricing model.
  • Reverse engineer competitor RMBS transactions, track and maintain CE levels, data comparison and pricing for management reporting.
  • Conducts surveillance of Flagstar RMBS performance & benchmarking against competitive transactions

Pricing
  • Work with pricing team to ensure jumbo pricing model is correctly reflected on daily rate sheets.
  • Support best execution pricing and volume analysis for agency vs whole vs RMBS transactions.

Transaction Related
  • Lead analyst for all data management, data quality and reporting and tracking for all potential and actual RMBS transactions.
  • Perform data, stratification and modeling and pricing tie out of all RMBS transactions and documentation with underwriters, accountants and rating agencies.
  • Tie out of all preliminary and final pricing of securities for the Flagstar RMBS program.

Other
  • Maintain and update policies and procedures related to role.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and projects as required.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

Job Requirements:
  • Reliable Home High Speed Internet required
  • Bachelor's Degree Required - Finance or related field
  • Master's Degree Preferred financial engineering or related
  • This position requires a minimum of seven (7) years of experience with the following skills and technologies: RMBS structure finance products and securities analyzing deal structures, collateral characteristics, loan performance attributes, and necessary inputs to derive the value of structured finance securities;
  • Expert level of skills using tools such as Intex Desktop, Bloomberg, and internal database; and programming in SQL and CAS.
