Responsibilities

Wellstar Cobb Hospital has an opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator of Quality Improvement.

The Coordinator of Quality Improvement is responsible for supporting assigned performance improvement committees and departments. Support activities include but are not limited to data analysis, facilitation of recommendations for improvement, action plan development and execution. Facilitates committee review of key functions as defined by accrediting/regulatory requirements.

The Coordinator of Quality Improvement Expands scope of review beyond practitioner related issues; supports performance improvement across all disciplines. Works to align practitioners, hospital staff, nursing and administration. The QIC is responsible for data drilldown to the physician and mid-level practitioner level as appropriate, and practitioner practice evaluation to support the credentialing/reappointment process. Supports the hospital Medical Director. Keeps Manager and Medical Director informed of activities.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Licensed Registered Nurse with current Georgia License.

Required Minimum Experience

Minimum of five (5) years clinical nursing experience; general medical/surgical experience preferred.

Required Minimum Skills

Self-directed. Computer skills required: MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced skills preferred. Knowledge of data collection/database methodologies, metrics and data analysis. Experience with Premier, Trendstar or similar database applications preferred. Team player, strong communication skills both written and verbal; ability to develop collaborative relationships. Ability to develop and effectively monitor and execute action plans. Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to work in a rapid change environment.
