Position Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the overall execution and performance of multiple locations. This position will manage the Regional Operations Managers. Responsible for execution of operations within a specific region to drive operational excellence to achieve return on revenue, workforce and customer NPS goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the business scope under the Suddath Workplace Solutions vertical to train and set expectations of operations and staff members.
  • Lead Operations Managers and assist in continuous oversight of the operations.
  • Ensure strong communication lines between Operation Managers and assigned locations.
  • Establish procedures and protocols for operational effectiveness and ensure adherence.
  • Provide oversight regarding the selection of Vendors, Contractors and Service Providers to secure best value/service standards are met.
  • Assist in development of the plan of annualized equipment, vehicle, and staffing needs for budgetary establishment purposes.
  • Exhibits active involvement in learning and reviewing P&L performance ensuring decisions and practices coincide with budgetary goals.
  • Develop, recommend, and manage annual operation budget, by working actively in the budget process with the SWS leadership and Operation Managers. Guide Ops Managers in the budget planning process.
  • Actively review key performance measurements and ensure process improvement strategies are identified and incorporated.
  • Keep SWS Leadership well informed of all matters relating to performance, personnel issues, business opportunities, etc.
  • Ensure performance of and review Quarterly Audits to ensure that processes are being followed and that location is running safe and adhering to all safety standards
  • Review any implemented improvement plans and evaluate effectiveness of them.
  • Ensure customer visits are regularly performed in all locations.
  • Evaluate performance of Operations Managers and their locations.
  • Establish effective communication and relationships with customers to ensure performance measurements and goals are understood and achieved, and that new business opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Responsible for compliance with Local, Federal and State legislation pertaining to personnel, equipment, vehicle and building matters.
  • Coordinates, resolves, and responds to issues as they pertain to the Operations Performance.
  • Drive the focus on safety reinforcing safety is the number one priority for all personnel, above all other goals and objectives
  • Manages business continuity plan for responsible region
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Four (4) year college degree in Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in the transportation, or related industry required.
  • Must have prior experience managing a team across multiple geographic locations. Previous experience managing a budget required. Valid state driver's license required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Operates with a customer service mentality.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to gain certifications in the core business spectrum as requested and keep them current.
  • Ability to drive initiatives to contribute towards long term success.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility and patience.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and with a strong sense of self-motivation.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team across multiple geographic locations.
  • Ability to sufficiently read, speak, and write English to understand and give directions, and to complete paperwork accurately.
Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment as dictated by the duties of the job and perform data entry and typing functions. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Travel
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time within the United States.
