Description

Salary Range:

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Job Summary:

This position provides student recruitment support for Simmons graduate programs in the areas of professional education, sport management, health promotion management, counseling, and liberal studies. The recruiter also provides centralized support to Simmons alumni and community engagement activities.

Essential Functions:

In collaboration with Simmons' departments, coordinate recurring recruitment activities that bring prospective students to campus to learn about Simmons' programs, professors, and research, including tours, lunches, open houses.

Pursue opportunities to educate the community about Simmons, including presenting to organizations, attending fairs, participating in conferences.

Utilize best practices to build relationships and strategic partnerships with organizations and community leaders to develop a robust applicant pipeline that attracts minority and underserved applicants.

Support the planning and execution of alumni and community engagement activities, including recurring and special events such as graduation, current student events.

Support the development and execution of Simmons-wide alumni communication efforts and digital properties. This includes personal correspondence such as direct emails, mass communication such as monthly newsletters and channels such as the alumni webpage, web features, and spotlight podcast.

Lead content creation and posting for all centralized Simmons social media properties, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Using Slate and other digital tools, engage prospective students not already being engaged and serve as a central point of contact for prospective students to assist with their inquiries and guide them to contacts in Simmons academic departments.

Must be willing and able to travel frequently in the DFW area and provide own transportation to do so.

Will sometimes travel out-of-town and out-of-state.

Must be willing and able to occasionally work after traditional business hours on weekdays and occasionally on weekends for recruitment fairs and events.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.

Two years professional work experience is required.

Experience in student recruitment, sales, college counseling/advising, college admissions or recruitment is preferred.

Work experience in a college or university environment is highly preferred.

Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.

Experience with Slate enrollment management software is preferred.

Presentation experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills with small and large groups.

Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of student audiences. Must be able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Candidate must have excellent organizational skills that include effective planning, project management, and time management. A strong attention to detail is essential.

Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to cultivate relationships with community leaders.

Candidate needs to possess high initiative as well as flexibility, adapting easily to change. Must be team oriented and collaborative.

Must possess strong presentation skills suitable for small and large audiences.
