Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a Receiving Coordinator to join our team at Asahi Kasei Bioprocess! The person in this role will be responsible for all activities required for receiving incoming shipments according to AKBA requirements and standard operating procedures. This position is also responsible for material movement of incoming products to internal customers, such as Inspection, Inventory, or Assembly departments, and for opening nonconformity reports for any product that does not meet specification.

Responsibilities:
  • Receives, unpacks, inspects, and stores incoming materials and supplies, and record results according to Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Ensure expected documentation is received, accurate and meets specification. Ensure all incoming material is appropriately documented as arrived and/or received in the company ERP system and transferred to its appropriate storage location per AKBA procedures.
  • Manage received components for re-shipment to outside processing vendors.
  • Prepare and submit nonconforming material reports in the company reporting system.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized area using 5-S principles.
  • Identify and support quality improvement and other projects, as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of receiving and logistical practices
  • Documentation and organization skills
  • An applied understanding of ISO 9001 requirements
  • Computer literate
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and able to work across multiple departments
  • Proven problem solving experience

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
  • The position requires physical mobility and must lift, carry and/or move up to 50lbs multiple times daily.
  • The position requires standing for long periods of time, and experience operating material handling equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, motorized pallet jack).
  • The work environment is a receiving dock within a manufacturing/mechanical shop facility.
  • Safe operation of all equipment including pallet jacks and fork trucks.
  • Safety shoes required to be worn at all times (provided by company).
