Position Summary

Make Safety a priority in everything you do. Ensure that our concrete is in compliance with all required internal and external quality standards and specifications. Assist with the implementation of best practices and techniques with regard to quality, production and delivery of concrete. Assist with establishing and achieving quality objectives for all aspects of operations, while working closely with operations, dispatch and sales.

Duties

  • Ensure all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner. Obey Martin Marietta safety policies at all times.
  • Establish the environment as a priority in daily activities and act as a steward to the environment. Demonstrate a commitment to meet or exceed environmental compliance.
  • Work closely with the Technical Services Manager to organize, and document, meetings with other departments in the business as well as with outside organizations.
  • Manage the Metro Market's Concrete Mix Design Submittal program. This requires communication with Field QC, and the Regional Lab, in order to establish data needs and to verify data accuracy.
  • Manage the Metro Market's mix design database in Quadrel and Command Series.
  • Analyze mix design performance data to establish positive benchmarks, and to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure good customer relations by working closely with the Sales Team to manage Quality related customer complaints as well as organizing, and executing, the QC Department response to those issues.
  • Develop skills to read, and analyze, project specifications in order to aid the Sales Team with efficient, and effective, project mix design selection.
  • Represent Martin Marietta at project Pre-Construction meetings in order to ensure that expectations consistent with safe work practices, efficient delivery and following all related industry standards and specifications are established.
  • Work closely with the Operations Department to maintain a current raw materials matrix, and to verify that quality related Best Practices are being followed. Participate in the plant audit process.
  • Occasional lab work will be required for both training, and participating in lab related projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in math, reading and writing skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Proven problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and act in a professional manner.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to effectively manage conflict.
  • Proficient with computers and technology.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years related industry experience.
  • ACI Field 1 certification is required. Additional related industry certifications are preferred.
  • Must have a valid US driver license with a clean driving record.
Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather as well as working indoors for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to work various hours including nights, Saturdays and overtime.
Compensation: $24.10 - $27.70 depending on experience.
