Dragados USA is seeking QC Lead Inspector to support the construction at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. This position will be responsible for overseeing and tracking/performing of all required construction inspections for Civil and Marine.

Principal/Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the jobsite for Quality, Civil/Marine, environmental, and MOT issues
  • Oversees onsite and off-site inspection at manufacturer/producer's location whenever necessary
  • Oversees and responsible for materials acceptance; verifies delivery, inspects materials upon arrival, determines exact quantity, understands and verifies compliance with the material certifications provided
  • Oversees Inspection of Civil/Marine Scopes of work
  • Schedule and perform "Witness" and "Hold" point inspections and notifications to the CBBT QA, outside agencies (if applicable) as well as DUSA's subcontractors with follow up implementation of work
  • Take active measures to prevent non-conformances/deficiencies from occurring on all phases of project
  • Ensure that the construction matches what is defined in the plans anticipating activities to be able to achieve schedule and cost goals
  • Assist with development and implementation of Quality Programs for the job site
  • Supporting all phases of a project to identify the contract requirements for work Plans
  • Support the Preparation of Dily, Weekly, and Monthly quality reports compiling all the information from the job site
  • Develop, implement, and follow-up the subcontractors listed on the job site, including the subcontractor (large and small subs) performance evaluation
  • Prepares and manages Non-Conformances, submittals & RFI's and maintains all documentation to support the company's position for claims resolution as needed
  • Enforces Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies
  • Complete a DIR (daily inspection report) summarizing all activities within their assigned scope
  • Site contact in any quality matter for the CTJV construction team
  • Quality representation at toolbox meetings and construction workshops as required
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction related field, quality certification, or equal experience.
  • Minimum 5-10+/- years' experience in a similar role
  • 1-2 past equivalent projects in a similar position
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (equivalent Documentation tracking)
  • Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess ability to writereports and procedure manuals
  • Organizational ability - able to plan, prioritize, organize and monitor activities and projects. Able to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Design Build Projects
  • Documented Project / experience with Support and control of Project activities
  • VDOT Concrete Field Technician experience or equal
  • VDOT Concrete Batch Technician experience or equal
  • VDOT Concrete Mix Design Tech. experience or equal
  • ACI Concrete knowledge
