POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Technician performs an important function in the organization, providing hands-on support to plants, the sales organization and other operations functions. This is a position supporting the North America operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate all activities associated with the creation, implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System including procedures and document creation/revision, internal quality audit, and management of the corrective/preventive action to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the role of Administrator of the Enterprise Quality Management Software.
  • Promote the company Quality Policy and the organizational goals of the company at all facilities.
  • Promote and measure quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
  • Ensure the development of audit plans and audit schedules.
  • Conduct investigations / internal audits and root cause analyses of Quality incidents, and ensure appropriate corrective/preventive actions are taken. Lead a team of quality auditors (internal or external), when needed.
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation of audit results and review at periodic intervals to track the progress after the audit.
  • Ensure that all corrective actions related to Non-Conformance identified in internal audits are addressed, processed and verified.
  • Identify relevant quality-related training needs and ensure training plans are developed.
  • Assist all areas/departments as needed in developing procedures, work instructions, documentation and provide technical support to laboratories.
  • Assist in the implementation of new Quality Tools (LIMS, etc).
  • Track monthly metrics generated from the Quality Management System and metrics collated from the different QA/QC teams, including Customer Feedback, Non-Conformance metrics, audit metrics, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A College or University degree in a Science or related program is required.
  • Good knowledge of continuous improvement and Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in internal Quality audits
