To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join our team as a Supervisor of Purchasing & Warranty Repair. This position will report to the Director, Purchasing & Warranty Repair. The primary responsibility of the position is to supervise, support, and administer procurement and component repair for the organization, with heavy focus on aircraft and ground handling materials.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervise and coach team members by administering workflow management of all daily department duties.
  • Train and evaluate team members, conduct performance appraisals, reward, and discipline team members
  • Assist with individual and departmental goal setting and execution
  • Develop and encourage enhanced technical and operational performance with all team members
  • Address complaints and resolve issues both internally and with external suppliers.
  • Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company and department practices, policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws
  • Review and monitor scheduled and unscheduled purchase requests to include support of Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) requirements
  • Review and monitor inventory system generated material requests, open orders, expedite reports
  • Assist with planning, supplier sourcing, support, contracts, and cost saving initiatives
  • Assist with supplier selection, negotiation of supplier RFQ's and agreements to include best pricing, cost savings, shipping, and payment terms.
  • Maintain close relationship with internal and external suppliers
  • Anticipate and raise concerns with supplier performance to mitigate negative impact to the company
  • Identify and source new materials and repair services, including PMA/Engineering opportunities for best pricing and availability
  • Review supplier price quotes and financial reports in preparation for contract negotiations
  • Plan, negotiate, and execute agreements
  • Attend trade shows and conferences
  • Conduct market research on new industry trends and technologies
  • Perform other duties and spearhead special projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Competencies:
  • 5 years of progressive procurement, supply chain, and repair experience
  • Previous management experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Demonstrable verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work both strategically and tactically
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and facilitate relationships at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Experience sourcing for various procurement categories
  • Proficient in business negotiations and supply chain management
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers
  • Understand escalation and crisis priorities
  • Understanding of complex contracts and summarize key terms
  • Knowledge of government and industry regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Access
  • Proficient with Merlin Procurement Software or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPSM, APICS-CSCP, or CPP Certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Aviation Management, or related field
  • Previous experience in aviation supply chain procurement
  • Ability to satisfy constantly evolving daily requirements associated to a dynamic maintenance and ground handling operations with an expansive supply chain
  • Ability to understand complex contracts and summarize key terms
  • Previous contract negotiation and customer service skills

Work Environment:
  • Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment
  • Some travel is required

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
