Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Public AffairsCoordinator develops and executes public relations activities for Eskenazi Health and serves as a liaison between the public affairs, communications division and assigned service lines within the health system. Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County. Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, public relations, journalism or related discipline required
• Two years prior experience in a public relations role preferred. Prior health care public relations is a plus but not required.
• Valid Indiana Driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Media and Public Affairs Manager, coordinates and executes public relations tactics for Eskenazi Health and IEMS which may include newsletters, direct-mail pieces, brochures, collateral, videos, print and radio advertising, annual reports and other projects identified through the planning process
• Serves as the primary public relations liaison for IEMS, talent acquisition department and rehab services department to the Public Affairs and Communications division within Eskenazi Health.
• Develops and monitors communications plans for projects and events within assigned departments.
• Works with the entire public affairs and communications team to execute communication plans as needed.
• Serves as a media relations liaison as needed.
• Advises staff on communication, marketing, media relations and other outreach opportunities available within the community.
• Works with the digital communications coordinator to develop social media messaging and the presence of assigned departments on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
• Provides or coordinates still photography and videography services as needed.
• Manages timelines/deadlines of projects and tracks project budgets.
• Coordinates the public relations needs for assigned department attended events such as health fairs, staff recognition activities, etc.
• Develops and coordinates special events for IEMS working with leaders and departments in the consultation, planning and implementation of assigned events to develop a positive public and community image of Indianapolis EMS. Conceives creative ideas and opportunities for events that promote awareness of Eskenazi Health and IEMS and its services for those within our community
• Delivers service excellence and ensures that events occurring in Eskenazi Health facilities and those that Eskenazi Health participates in across the community are in keeping with the organization's brand
• Conducts post-event debriefing sessions.
• Assists with content development and editing responsibilities on appropriate internal and external publications and other communication tools
• Helps with planning and execution of news conferences, briefings and other media-specific events
