Position Summary

The Project Coordinator is a non-benefited, limited-term, contract position within the Data Science Graduate Programs at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science. The Project Coordinator provides coordination and support for the Director of Data Science in the development of faculty and student guidance documents and related digital resources. The Project Coordinator serves as the primary lead and facilitator in developing these materials in consultation with the Data Science Director, the Data Science Program Coordinator, the Data Science Advisory Committee, relevant campus offices and our program partners. Expected tasks range from scheduling and facilitating meetings, preparing communications, note-taking, gathering/synthesizing/organizing information for online publication, tracking project progress, and archiving materials. This position will report to the Director of Data Science.

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

  • Provide ongoing administrative support to the Director of Data Science during the project period.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with key constituencies to identify guidance and training needs as well as stakeholder concerns.
  • Collect and synthesize information from various sources to establish best practices and remediate gaps in information & communication.
  • Coordinate with the Data Science Advisory Committee to document/develop protocol and related procedures for effective program delivery and student outreach.
  • Create guidance documents and associated protocol/procedures for the data science graduate program.
  • Curate digital materials to disseminate program information to students, faculty, staff, and administrators associated with the program.
  • Work effectively with various campus offices and departments across the University of Denver.
  • Set and meet project schedule and deliverables.
  • Undertake additional tasks and requests at the request of the Data Science Director.
Supervisory Duties: The Project Coordinator is not responsible for the support or supervision of other employees.

  • High level of confidentiality and professional judgement.
  • Experience with a variety of computer applications, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the use of various internet and email applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong service orientation.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and work effectively with the Data Science Director.
  • Demonstrated commitment, knowledge, and ability to effectively engage individuals with responsiveness to and values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts degree or a Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Two years of related work experience and/or training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the University of Denver and associated offices and departments.
  • Knowledge of Banner and Canvas technology systems.
  • Training in facilitation and project management
Working Environment
  • Option for remote work, provided a home office is available. Access to the University of Denver campus is desirable. Office space on campus may be available for this position.
Work Schedule

Hourly position with flexible work hours. The coordinator is expected to schedule & attending project meetings Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Physical Activities
• Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $28.00 - $32.00

The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
