Summary:

We are seeking a Process Engineer with the ability to also manage capital projects related to cost, quality and safety across the entire manufacturing network. Proven project management skills are necessary for the planning, design, estimation, implementation, and commissioning of any new and/or upgraded equipment and processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for capital improvements projects across five manufacturing sites
  • Collect and analyze user requirements around problems associated with manufacturing
  • Identify operational steps and document any variability in process or resources
  • Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing
  • Monitoring the process performance throughout production
  • Measure and document process work elements through time studies
  • Evaluate and recommend process improvements
  • Perform quality surveys to document new and/or update existing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs) and workflows.
  • Write scopes of work for bids and prepare bid packages for contractor walk-throughs
  • Preparing estimates (and business cases if needed) for capital proposals
  • Budget, schedule and change order management of approved capital projects
  • Procurement of materials and services for capital projects (POs, invoices, and contracts)
  • Coordination of external contractors (mechanical/electrical/rigging crews)
  • Evaluate processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety (EHS)
  • Provides thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changes
  • Set baseline costing measurements (standard time) for complex processes that can be updated and tracked for improved costing and capacity capabilities
  • Ability to work closely with several disciplines within the company (operations, manufacturing personnel, product design, quality, senior engineering, and finance)


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong working knowledge with materials of compatibility and pipe/pump sizing as well as liquid/liquid mixing and powder/liquid dispersions
  • Experience in process control and I/O (input/output) requirements (automated valves, level, pressure, flow meters, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail is essential to managing multiple projects across multiple sites to plan, monitor and track progress
  • Ability to track project performance, specifically to analyze and identify potential issues necessary to adapt scope, timeline, and costs to ensure project requirements are met
  • Apply Engineering principles in practical applications with strong analytical skills
  • Manage the relationships with all client base and relevant stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills to all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project/Excel/WORD/PPT)
  • Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Autodesk Suites preferred such as AutoCAD, Inventor/Fusion)
  • Ability to process large data sets into meaningful outputs (Power BI, JMP, or similar data analytics software experience preferred)
  • Basic understanding of ERP system (SAP preferred)


Education and Experience:
  • B.S. in Engineering – Chemical / Mechanical / Industrial (MBA preferred)
  • Proven track record of Project Management with both large and small projects
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment


Physical requirements:
  • Work in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment – noise, dust, odors, etc.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) – safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
