What You Will Be Doing The Principal Optical Systems Engineer will lead the characterization and validation of our integrated optical sensing systems. The candidate will be part of the sensors team and perform hands-on testing at the PIC, subsystem, and system level. The successful candidate will work closely with Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC), electrical IC, packaging, process, and product teams to ensure quality release of new products from design concept through to the manufacturing phase.

- Define and lead test activities for sensing applications, including maintaining technical risk profile, driving mitigation plans to closure on characterization activities, generating test processes and test flows from fab to product
- Work with cross-functional teams to define test plans and ensure execution, from process to wafer-level test to application-specific testing
- Define, develop, and execute test strategies to minimize technical risk for all sensors programs
- Setup and maintain complex test environments and automated setups
- Analyze test data, generate EVT/DVT reports, hold review meetings with relevant stakeholders and make recommendations
- Support and qualify system test infrastructure and automated test software
- Support the adaptation of equipment from design verification environment to high-volume manufacturing test platforms
- Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability
What You Need for this Position MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar discipline with 3-10+ years of hands-on experience with the following:

- Optical and electrical testing of photonic systems and sub-systems
- Optical setups for both optical and electronic test equipment
- Optical components

Preferred:

- Silicon Photonics testing experience
- Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) testing/validation
- Python for test automation
