The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery, at Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow for the Agarwal Laboratory (PI: Dr. Shailesh Agarwal).

Our laboratory is located in the Thorn Building, a part of the Brigham and Women's Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliated institution. The laboratory has facilities for molecular biology, cellular biology, histology, and animal surgery.

Current research projects in the laboratory are the following:

  • Innovative autologous cell therapies allowing for context-dependent drug delivery
  • Examination of lymphedema biology using novel cell therapies, and transgenic mouse models

Qualifications
The position is available for MD or PhD scientists with a 2-year commitment to the lab. The fellow will work closely with the PI and others in the lab to design and execute experiments, collect and verify data, and present findings at academic conferences and in publications. Techniques implemented in experiments include cell culture, qRT-PCR, ELISA, Western blot, histologic, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, gene delivery, and small animal surgery. The fellow will receive further training in year 2 for grant writing as a pathway to obtaining academic independence. The fellow will also have the option of attending one workshop on laboratory leadership or grantsmanship.
