OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Director of Organization Development, the People Analytics Manager will provide Human Capital data reporting and analysis to leaders and staff across the organization and actively administer requests from our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging team. You will be responsible for contributing towards the development of the organizational strategy for people data, including data governance, tools, and technology to support data-driven decision making throughout the organization. You will play a direct role in developing data tools and performing advanced analysis that provides timely people insights and increases reporting capabilities for the people function, executive leadership, people managers, and staff.

This role involves working with innovative technological platforms to provide thorough data analysis and assisting executive leaders and HR professionals in crucial decision-making. In partnership with HR Leadership, you will collaborate with both HR and IT colleagues to steward the quality of both data inputs and outputs in HR related systems, enabling us to assess and track progress of people priorities in a meaningful, metrics-driven way. You will contribute to system decision-making, scoping, and prioritizing HR technology and systems projects in support of our overall people strategy and function as super-user fluent in our HR systems and leverage that knowledge to provide leaders across the org with learning opportunities, tools, and resources. The People Analytics Manager is a primary HR liaison to IT/HRIS to support optimization and adoption of all HR related systems including ADP, Degreed, HR Acuity, ServiceNow, and Workday.

As a successful candidate, you will have experience managing ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from a cross-functional stakeholder group, the gravitas to strategically prioritize and execute against requests, and the experience and skill to navigate in a matrixed environment to engage and influence stakeholders. You will be skilled in translating priorities and goals into specific data metrics and display an eagerness to tell the story behind the data. You adeptly manage competing priorities while exhibiting strong relationship building and communication skills to best support the people function and communication of people analytics and technology adoption to the broader organization and our Board.

Ideal candidates for this role will bring a passion for our mission and an interest in leveraging their data analysis skills in the Human Resources space and strong data analytics and Excel skills.

The People Analytics Manager will also interact with Year Up students as a coach, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in building a positive educational environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data, Reporting and Analysis

  • Compile data from across all HR related systems and provide proactive and regular reporting across human capital data points with an increasing number and depth of human capital data points in the hands of leaders to help drive decision making
  • Play lead role for reporting aspects across our HR systems including ADP, Degreed, HR Acuity, ServiceNow, and Workday, including configuring and running reports and data quality
  • Collaborate with HR Leadership team to identify areas for assessment, reporting and / or automation to facilitate informed business decisions
  • Compile HR data and metrics and bring and drive awareness of data and related "what does it mean?" across the people function and for functional leaders
  • Drive analytics initiatives and leverage data analysis across HR Systems and reporting to make recommendations for decisions around business operations and continuous improvement
  • Support, guide, and coach HR's reporting needs and interpretation of results sourced from several HR platforms across all HR functions (i.e., Organizational Development, People Operations, Staff Learning, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards)
  • Develop and maintain insightful data analysis and visualizations for all HR functions to drive insight and action

HR Systems Optimization and Education

  • Play a key role in HR team engagement and participation by performing as HR Systems Super User, with particular focus on deepening ADP, Degreed, ServiceNow, and Workday knowledge and driving expertise across HR
  • In your role as super user, train HR staff, and create materials such as training videos to leverage your expertise for people managers across the organization
  • Participate as a member of the HR Systems production support team to do initial triaging, translate business goals into technical requirements, and drive HR team engagement
  • Identify inefficiencies in HR related systems and work with HR and IT to solve, provide thought partnership on continuous improvement and manage prioritization of HR requests including enhancements, reporting, and training
  • In partnership with the HRIS team, you will drive continuous engagement with HR Systems, acting as a primary functional analyst on the HR team. Act as primary HR liaison to the HRIS team in support of driving continuous improvement, enhancement, and optimization of HR related systems to support our people strategy

Reporting and Presenting Data

  • The People Analytics Manager's core aims are to understand the data, gather insights, and communicate them effectively.
  • Gather and present relevant people metrics to determine the efficiency and impact of the workforce.
  • Analyzing data and statistics for trends about recruitment practices, engagement, development, turnover, and compliance
  • Develop standard and ad hoc reports, templates, and metrics ensuring their accessible to HR and business leaders to make business decisions
  • Summarize regular metrics and results for HR and functional leadership
  • Troubleshoot data and reports

Site Team/Learning Community Member

  • Serve as a coach/mentor for a small number of current students
  • Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics and reporting, preferably in Human Resources
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to create charts, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Experience with HR Operations and Human Capital Management and Learning systems strongly preferred (Workday and ADP specifically)
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Outstanding time management skills, with proven ability to multi-task, accomplishing numerous tasks and changing priorities in an effective and timely manner
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude, with a willingness to be flexible and do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Experience working with virtual cross-functional teams across diverse geographical locations
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for working with young adults, an unshakable belief in their potential, and a strong commitment to the mission of Year Up

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Year Up has established salary ranges for each of our sites, which allows us to pay employees competitively, equitably and consistently in different geographic markets. For roles in which the location is listed as flexible, the range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Salary offers take into account a candidate's skills, experience, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

  • Vacation: Earn three weeks paid vacation in first year of employment; four weeks after initial year.
