Saint Alphonsus Health System is currently looking for a dynamic and detail oriented individual to join our amazing Patient Relations team. The Patient Relations Coordinator will be located at our Boise Hospital off Curtis Rd. and I-84; you'll work 8am-4:30pm Friday-Tuesday (Wed and Thurs off).

As a Patient Relations Coordinator at Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will support the managers by serving as a coordinator, liaison and educator in regard to the patient and family concerns and grievance process. You will visit units as needed to coordinate customer service practices and assist staff in management of challenging customer relation situations while following current regulatory guidelines and standards in regard to investigating and resolving customer concerns.

Our ideal candidate will be deadline driven with good problem-solving skills. Must possess a high degree of precision and accuracy as well as the ability to prioritize and organize effectively. Additionally, must possess incredible customer service skills, with a strong ability to de-escalate and communicate in stressful, escalated situations.

General Requirements:

  • Healthcare and customer service experience preferred.
  • Conflict management experience and de-escalation techniques preferred.
  • Requires the ability to work well independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and team building skills required.
  • Must have strong people skills.
  • Computer and audiovisual skills required.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Essential Functions:
  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Follows current regulatory guidelines and standards in regard to investigating and resolving patient grievances.
  • Maintains a database related to process and outcomes of the patient concern and grievance response program.
  • Assists the manager with
    - management of investigation and response to concerns and grievances including coordinating communication with patient/family members regarding resolution of concerns and assists them in accessing grievance processes
    - education, in-services and training efforts
    - determining need to revise or implement new internal policies and procedures to create a more effective program.
  • Assists the supervisor with preparing reports on concerns and grievance process and outcomes to appropriate departments and committees.
  • Advanced communication and customer service skills to communicate information (verbally and written) to a variety of roles clearly, respectfully, and adapt communication based on the receiver's current knowledge base.
