The Social Sciences Collegiate Division at the University of Chicago is now accepting applications for a part-time Lecturer to teach in the undergraduate Civilization Studies sequence Colonizations in the 2022-23 school year. Colonizations a three-quarter sequence in the undergraduate general education program that approaches the concept of civilization from an emphasis on cross-cultural/societal connection and exchange. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching a seminar-style course, holding regularly scheduled office hours, preparing and grading assignments, and attending staff meetings. The per-course salary is $7,319, and the position is not benefits eligible. Depending on curricular needs, successful candidates may be offered between one and four classes.

Qualifications

The position requires a graduate degree in Anthropology, History, or another area relevant to the course's curriculum. Experience teaching at the university or four-year college level is required.
