Holman Enterprises is a diverse automotive services company that is made up of six operating businesses - including automotive dealerships across the country, a leasing and auto retail finance company, an auto parts distributorship, a truck up-fitting business, a full-service insurance brokerage, and the largest privately owned fleet leasing and management company in the world.

Holman Enterprises has an exciting opportunity within the Human Resources Department for an Onboarding Specialist. This is currently a REMOTE opportunity, however must be willing to commute to our Mt. Laurel, NJ headquarters in the future.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Introduce new hires and welcome them to the Holman Way and our operations
  • Create and coordinate streamlined onboarding processes for all employees
    • Includes creation of a checklist for all new hires
    • Ensure new hires are not stalled in any point during the onboarding process and have everything they need for a successful first day experience
    • Coordinate communication between the New Hire, Hiring Manager, IT and Human Resources
  • Identify all new employees and their hiring managers prior to each individual's start date
  • Communicate with New Hires before start date to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed
    • Process employee paperwork (I9s)
    • Coordinate with IT to set up new employees with our systems
  • Schedule and oversee New Hire training in collaboration with the Holman University team
    • Ensure all on-boarding compliance and eLearning offerings are up-to-date, assigned and processed
    • Ensure that all information and presentation materials are up-to-date, including Benefits and payroll information
    • Facilitate onboarding and other culture trainings
  • Help employees acclimate to their new work environment by connecting them with the resources available to them throughout the organization and especially within HR (including employee programs and benefits)
  • Coordinate all New Hire events
  • Implement, monitor, and report on the New Hire Survey in partnership with the Partners in Excellence Data Analyst
  • Monitor New Hire Turnover and Retention rates in partnership with the HR Technology & Analytics team
  • Create opportunities for New Hires to meet other new and existing employees
  • Consult with hiring manager in the creation of departmental onboarding plans
  • Coordinate building access (badges)
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.


Education and/or Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience


Relevant Work Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service
  • 1+ years of experience in Human Resources


Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge:
  • Broad knowledge of all Holman companies and Partners in Excellence a plus
  • Strong communication and organization skills a must
  • Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced work environment
  • Process- and detail-oriented mindset


Communicating & Influencing Skills:
  • Ability to build, create and sustain relationships and interact at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to summarize and explain information to others
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Interprets customer needs and assesses requirements
  • Responds to non-standard requests from customers; investigates with assistance from others as needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with a remote team
