Basic Job Functions:

The Support Technician will be safety-minded, goal-oriented, and quality-driven. The individual will possess a broad knowledge of computer software, hardware, and networks.

Responsibilities for the Intern/Coop Base Technologies Support Technician include but are not limited to:

• Monitor helpdesk ticketing system (Lansweeper/Sysaid)-resolution of helpdesk support requests.

• Desktop and notebook support involving repairs, imaging, and configuration.

• Experience with printer and copier support: troubleshooting, setup, and maintenance.

• Office VOIP phone system setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Respond to user requests and perform triage through issue resolution for office and plant users.

• Responsible for setting up all hardware and ensuring said hardware is connected to the network. Devices include, but are not limited to company laptops, printers, tablets, or mobile phones.

• Be the "face" of the helpdesk. If someone from another department needs IT, answer the call.

• Consistently model the highest levels of support orientation and professionalism.

• Create step-by-step training material with screenshots for end users.

• Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.

• Facilitate escalation for user problems outside areas of subject matter expertise.

• Provide creative solutions to user problems of simple to complex nature to ensure user satisfaction and productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Current enrollment in a technical school, community college, or other education facility.
  • Qualification under the school's requirements for Internship or Cooperative Education programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong commitment to Safety in all job aspects.
  • Cisco or Microsoft Professional Certificationspreferred.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer/technical issues.
  • Customer Support or Helpdesk Experience- Sysaid, Lansweeper software preferred.
  • Manufacturing-related IT experience, with a preference for process-related industries.
  • Keen attention to detail, memory of patterns, and interest in problem solving.
  • Business use cellular devices and setups (MFA, Intune, updates, deployments, etc.)
  • RF Scanners (Config, troubleshooting, deployment, etc.)
  • Active Directory, DHCP and DNSunderstanding.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Prior work experience working in an IT networked environment with specific knowledge of Microsoft Windows, PC hardware support, and basic IT networking concepts.
  • Be a team player and coachable.
