Tuknik Government Solutions is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Baltimore, MD. This is a full-time employment opportunity supporting the KGS family of companies. The primary purpose of this task is to provide support that assures the current customer configurations are continuous and consistent. It is the responsibility of RSSC staff to assure that communications are operational, response times are within accepted tolerances, and all hardware and software supporting the customer network and applications are available.

Certifications Required: CCNA and MCSA OR CCNA and Net+

Responsibilities

As a Network Engineer, you will provide infrastructure management, as well as second-level consultation support, for all hardware and software, and technical support for:

  • Severity-1 outages
  • Domain controllers
  • Outlook/Exchange hardware and software
  • Server 2012/2016
  • WIN 10
  • Communications devices and lines
  • IWS/LAN server diagnostics
  • Cisco routers and switches
  • Ethernet switches
  • Telcom Edge Routers

Additional support, including systems analysis, is provided for:
  • Client/server applications
  • Wide Area Network/Local Area Network system configurations
  • Printer configurations
  • Server diagnostics
  • Network development and software

You will provide LAN support for future initiatives as they are deployed and be responsible for training customer personnel in:
  • Specific troubleshooting techniques
  • Documentation of the processes
  • Monitoring, testing, and analyzing all hardware and software in support of the various SSA Client/Server initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Minimum six years' experience providing network support
  • Strong subject matter experience in network characteristics analysis, design of network topologies and site configurations, installation, transition, and cutover of network components.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline.
  • Two to four years' experience in direct networking support
  • Six years' experience in direct network management/engineering may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.

Clearance

Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
