Vertiv is hiring a Manager, Production Control and Logistics in Ironton, OH who will be responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, expediting, storage, control, distribution, and shipment of materials and products to meet operational objectives and customer requirements. The Manager, Production Control Logistics integrates the functions of purchasing, production control, traffic, and warehousing to support a manufacturing operation. The Manager, Production Control Logistics sets aggressive improvement goals and report results on a regular basis; maintains and report minimum inventory levels appropriate to the manufacturing operations and utilizes systems to reduce, control and disposition obsolete inventory.

The Manager, Production Control Logistics advises and recommends changes to procedures, policies, processes, and equipment related to the materials management functions; provides support for the implementation of supplier development programs and manufacturing certifications (i.e. supplier certification, ISO 9000 etc.) and assists in the development and implementation of improved Materials Requirements Planning systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and flow of material and FGs (finished Goods) to maximize on-time deliver to customers and optimizes inventory/working capital performance.
  • Manages a team of buyers, planners, inventory control and shipping resources. Increases productivity, professional development and careers. Suggest and lead continuous improvement for the department and others.
  • Measures and manages the performance of materials indirect and direct support teams.
  • Support the SIOP process and steps in to lead as required.
  • Identify, share and implement best in class supply chain practices.
  • Develops standard work, policies and procedures in collaboration with other facilities Manager, Production Control Logistics and professional supply chain resources.
  • Suggest and lead continuous improvement for the department and others.
  • Manage Supplier held inventory programs to improve delivery, reduce lead-times and avoid E&O and risk to Vertiv.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement for Vertiv.
  • Collaborate with other facilities and regions of the world to optimize inventory globally.
  • ITC leader for Materials Department.
  • Monitor capacities and product line delivery performance and daily throughputs.
  • Work with manufacturing operation to improve material flow through the plant and increase productivity.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related discipline required.
  • MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
  • APICS or CPM certification preferred.
Requirements
  • 5 to 7 years of materials management experience
  • Experience in an industrial, high mix job shop environment.
  • Excellent proficiency with spreadsheets, MS Office.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain management and appropriate Vertiv products.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to work at different levels of the organization and with outside customers as required.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Must have flexibility to work any shift as needed.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams is required.
  • Knowledge of SIOP and production scheduling dynamics is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual - preferred
