Purpose of the Job:

The Maintenance Supervisor manages plant maintenance programs and business metrics, with an emphasis on tooling and mechanical aspects of the plant equipment and operation. The supervisor is responsible for overall facility and equipment maintenance, as well as the supervision of a team.

Key Accountabilities:

Direct hourly employees to plan and manage maintenance programs and business metrics
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet daily goals.
Ensure effective employee relations through coaching and development and resolves employee issues through problem resolution OR Confer with management for guidance in resolving employee complaints and or grievances.
Read and analyse charts, work orders, maintenance, and production schedules to meet customer requirements.
Ensure safe operation of all equipment, trains associates as necessary, and promptly investigates and reports all safety concerns.
Develop and/or implement training plans to increase employee skills and capabilities.
Involved in Maintenance Planning.
Balances safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas with a focus on continuous improvement in all areas.
Inspect materials, product, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. Determine best problem-solving solution.
Ensure Company procedures and policies are enforced.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's perfered; preferably in Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Union environment.
  • Experience in high speed manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, tooling, hydraulics and TPM systems.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean or other improvement philosophies.
  • SAP preferred.
  • Experience in a union environment is strongly preferred.
