Hypertherm Associates is seeking to add a Machine Maintenance Technician to our 3rd shift Light Industrial Business team.

In this role, you will work independently to provide technical support for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electronic, automated, and robotic systems / equipment along with advanced corrective, and predictive maintenance to produce high quality product while meeting customer demand.

Safety:
  • Proactively implements solutions to address potential safety hazards
  • Required to manage, handle, transport, and ship hazardous waste

Operation, Preventative, Corrective, and Predictive Maintenance:
  • Conducts routine basic Preventive maintenance (e.g. filter changes, machine cleanouts, lube levels, coolant changes), basic corrective maintenance and inspections of assigned production equipment
  • Help support other Technicians with Preventive and corrective maintenance as needed on production equipment.
Documentation and communication:
  • Professionally communicates through 1 on 1 and small group knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Communicate with area leaders of assigned tasks to be scheduled into the production schedule.
  • Accurately documents work using the maintenance data base in accordance with QA1732 Hypertherm maintenance program.

Troubleshooting:
  • Provides basic troubleshooting support for operations equipment (e.g. Oil leaks, broken hoses, loss of air, replace lamps, clogged filters, chip build up, stuck conveyors, low coolant flow).

Equipment and Machine Installations:
  • Provides basic support for machine installs and moves by air hook-ups, setting proper fluid levels, preparing the area for operation and support experienced technicians with the install.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and experience working in an industrial environment on electronic, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Hazardous Waste Training (RCRA) and US DOT Hazardous Materials Training is a condition of employment in this role.
  • Basic computer skills (Data entry, e-mail, and MS word)
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Ability to operate assigned equipment independently
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced industrial environment0 to 2 years' maintenance experience working with industrial electronics, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and maintenance data base)
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred:
  • Basic understanding of CNC controls and operation
  • Basic understanding of PLC controls and automation interfaces
  • Knowledge and experience of OSHA laws and regulations
  • Hazardous waste handling

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders.
  • Work with and around high voltages, high temperatures, oils, chemicals, dusts, and moving machinery.
