Flexibility to float between multiple offices.
Utilizes current nursing practices to provide patient care while focusing on the needs of the patient and exemplifying the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect and cooperation. As a contributing member of a health care team, functions in the role of patient advocate by being in the position of initial contact for patient-related issues. Recognizes and consistently applies knowledge of Loyola's 14 Forces of Magnetism.

  • PatientAssessment-Functionsintheroleofpatientadvocateby beinginthepositionofinitialcontactforpatient-relatedissues. Clarifiesandimplementsphysicianordersbyadministering medicationsandperforming/orderingtreatmentsandtestingas prescribedbythephysician.Recognizes symptomsandestablishesprioritiesconsistentwithpatient'scondition.Documentspatient'sphysicalandemotionalstatus andaddstoplanofcareinordertoaddresspatientneeds appropriately.

  • PatientCare-Reviewsandevaluatesplanofcare,obtainsinformation frompatientand/orfamily,andaddstoplanofcareasappropriate.Collaborateswiththemultidisciplinaryteam, thepatient,andfamilytopromoteefficientpatientcare.Providesforthephysical,culturalandpsychosocial needsofthepatientandfamily.Integratesevidence-basedpractice andprofessionalstandardswheneverpossible.Servesasachampion forpatientsafetybycontinuallyobservingandmonitoringtheclinical environmentandassuringthatsafetygoalsandstandardsare consideredwhenprovidingcareinthepracticesetting.

  • Communication-Performsrequireddocumentationandcommunicates inacompetentandeffectivemannertomeetpatientand/orfamily needsandregulatoryrequirements.Protectsconfidentialityofpatient's PersonalHealthInformation(PHI).

  • WorkFlow-Assistswiththedailyoversightofotherclinicalstaff(other nurseandnon-nursestaffmembers)whendirectedbythemanagerto maximizeworkflowinthepractice.Providesfeedbacktothemanager whenrequestedregardingwork-relatedskillsofnon-licensed personnel.Servesasamentorandpreceptorfornewstaffandasa constantresourcetonon-licensedornon-nursepersonnel.Remains flexiblewithworkassignmentsthroughouttheclinicalsitetoassure appropriatecoveragetomeetstaffingandpatientcareneeds.

  • QualityImprovement-Utilizestimeandresourceseffectivelyto promotequalityandcostoutcomes.Participatesinsite-specificand divisionqualityprojectsandinitiatives.Servesasaclinicalexpertby reportingpatientrelatedissuesandconcernsdirectlytothemanager andmedicaldirector.Assumesanactiveroleinmaintainingsite preparednessandcompliancewithguidelinesandstandardsas definedbyregulatoryagencies(ie.TheJointCommission,Illinois DepartmentofPublicHealth).

  • Billing&FacilityCharges-Assuresaccuracyofpatientchargesand directspatientsappropriatelywithbilling-relatedissuesor pre-certificationneeds.

  • Triage-Handlesnurse-directedtelephonecallsfrompatientsand seeksappropriateinputanddirectionfromthephysicianorfunctions fromsignedprotocolsifapplicable.Documentsdispositionofcallwith theappropriateinterventions.

  • ProfessionalDevelopmentActivity-Demonstratesaccountabilityfor professionalgrowthandjobperformance.
